Между островом Манхеттен и островом Свободы в Нью Йоркской гавани расположен маленький островок под названием Эллис Айленд. С 1892 по 1954 год на нем работал крупнейший в США пункт приема иммигрантов. Через него прошло 12 миллионов человек (большая часть иммигрантов приехала до 1924). Сегодня там музей и "Доска Почета" с выгравированными на ней именами. Несколько лет назад я сделала для них маленькую программку поиска имен и печати "красивых" фрагментов доски почета с найденными именами. По долгу службы бывала там часто.
